About Us

We moved to Devon 6 years ago I wanted to come home after spending time in London and my husband John felt the time was right to step back from 30 years working in financial services. 

We found a beautiful house in Devon, not far from the Somerset boarder and 2 years later we were offered the opportunity to purchase the field next to the house. The field came with a small copse of trees and as we were to discover some breath-taking sunsets, with wild deer in the next field to add to the magic.    

We started to investigate how the field could be used and stumbled upon the concept of the 28 days rule, which meant we could use the field for uses other agriculture for 28 days a year. We began testing the water and a few Red Herrings later we concluded that the field would be best used as a mid-range, glamping site. 

During the national pandemic the 28 days rule increased to 56 and we became rather popular, we trailed Bell Tents and the rest is history   

Our concept is to provide our guests with a glamping experience, that still embodies elements of an off grid experience, but with access to amenities such as phone charging, local produce and good bathrooms. We also understand the need for a great night’s sleep; hence good beds, good linen and good pillows are a must.
